FUJIN
Founded in 2010 by flutist Misty Rondeau and saxophonist Marc Ballard, Fujin has spent the past decade performing traditional and contemporary music throughout the United States. Facing a limited repertoire for a unique instrumentation, the duo began performing existing works alongside their own transcriptions of classics by Beethoven, Telemann, Reger, and Bach.
With a strong desire to expand the available repertoire for flute and saxophone, they quickly set about collaborating with contemporary composers (Stephen Dankner, Neil Anderson-Himmelspach, Michael Young, Wes Flinn, etc.), resulting in over a dozen new works.
Fujin is continuing this tradition in its 10th season with the release of their debut album, which will feature the newly commissioned Fujin by Stephanie Berg.
